Life Balance 5.0.5 for Mac OS X is posted

Today we released Life Balance 5.0.5 for Mac OS X, which fixes several problems with the iPhone Sync Settings window. We had a couple of reports from customers who were having trouble changing the port number, and traced this to some window activation, keyboard focus and editing commit problems. The new release fixes those problems.

People who are running 5.0.4 should get the update automatically through Sparkle. If you're not running 5.0.4 or have automatic updates turned off, you can get 5.0.5 from the usual download page.

Enjoy!

Support Center is undergoing renovations

The Llamagraphics support center has been upgraded to Cerberus Helpdesk 4.1, and is ...uh... looking a little rough around the edges. It may take us a couple of days for us to put the spit and polish on the new support center, but it's up and running.

The good news is that the new support center includes better searching for knowledge base articles, an RSS feed for Life Balance support tips, and eliminates the confusing "login" area of the old support center.

New Llama web store is UP!

Stuart and I just completed an overhaul of the web store. The web store is obviously a mission critical component of the Llamagraphics web site.

The store was really the oldest part of the web site — most of the underpinnings were designed and implemented quite early in our website's history. We created our own store back in the days when there were not many examples of what kinds of eCommerce layouts worked and what didn't. It was definitely due for a serious renovation and Stuart and I put a lot of work into it in recent weeks.

We think that the new store is friendlier, the flow is faster and more convenient, and it looks a lot more like what people expect to see these days. So, I think that will be a welcome change for our customers.

Stuart and I are also making other changes and tweaks around the web site.

Sometimes when we try different layouts and possibilities, the answers are really surprising. We think that something we're doing will be an improvement, and it's not. It is kind of a relief to have real data on that kind of change to the web site though, because then we aren't just guessing.
