Conduit Community Support

A New View on Conduits

I use Life Balance on Mac, Windows and iPhone. I'm looking forward to iPad. The one challenge I have on the road is the conduit. As opposed to the wifi sync you have today which works great at home. I'd like to suggest integrating the DropBox API to the iPhone and other mobile devices. This would allow a sync to the master anywhere, anytime and lead to much more flexibility I think.

Syncing with a Blackberry

Does anyone have experience syncing with a Blackberry.
It seems like there should be a lot of Blackberry users interested in this so I'm surprised I haven't found any info.
I was using the Palm.

New Palm setup on fresh XP - LB conduit not working with encoding?

This is mostly copied and pasted from emails to support, they've not yet responded but I got it (mostly) working, so posting here for others' reference. (LB Support - as stated in my email, I do still have the one issue mentioned at the end, please do respond when you get a chance, thanks!)

Encoding was one issue:

> OpenConduit
> ErrorCodeException, TextEncoding.cpp line 493, type unknown, error 13: thrown from
> TextEncoding.cpp, line 493. Error code 13.

Not sure if it this ended up being critical, currently got it working with "Windows Western European".

Palm/Mac sync failing in Tiger

Trying to get my LB data from the Palm on which it's lived hitherto to the iPhone version via the desktop, I find I can no longer get it off the Palm and into the Mac desktop version (which I haven't used for some months, but have kept updated). Missing Sync gets as far as "Loading Wish DB" and then falls over with the following log:

Sync starting at 08/09/2009 23:15 (23:15:38) on USB (5.1.2)
Palm load failed
OpenConduitCarbon
OpenConduit
Palm loading
PalmHotSyncContext::LoadDBs

No sync?

I have recently upgraded LifeBalance for windows to 5.05. Everything seemed fine until I realized none of my tasks were being synced back and forth. If I put it in my Z71 it does not sync to the desktop and vice versa. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing. I get no error messages in my hotsync log and no other indication that anything is wrong. I am at a complete loss and can not find my issue on the forums so far. What can I do? I need this to work again quickly. My business is organized exclusively with LB.

Hotsync Backups even without Desktop ?

My subject's my post, though I can elaborate: for the Palm version, do I get backups safely stored in Palm Desktop's Backup folder even if I do not have the Desktop version to sync to ? Just in case.. you know.. something happens to my Treo.

Blackberry any time soon?

I'm thinking of upgrading from my Treo 650 to the new Blackberry Storm. But I won't till I can get LB on it ;-)

Seriously, get "cracking" because my Treo's starting to die on me. And I am not happy with the way Palm is going.

Thanks.

LB under Linux

Hi everyone

At home, my PCs run under Linux (Ubuntu 8.04).
I'd appreciate to have an LB LInux version (and I'll pay for it!), in order to sync my iPod LB Version to/from my desktop.

Is tehre anybody else interested in that feature? Turnarounds?

Thanks
Pascal

I am logged onto your web page twice

Llamas:

FYI, I am sending this note to this forum because I did not know where else to send it:

I notice that I am logged onto your users page twice under user ID "EdCraven". When I log out, and then check back to the pages again without logging in, I see that one "Online users" remains for "EdCraven".

Sync problems with OS X 10.5.5?

Hi,

Yesterday, I updated to OS X 10.5.5. Now isync complains that more than 5% (~70) tasks will be updated every time that I sync. I tell it to sync, but it updates the same tasks again on the next sync. It looks like that on each sync it is moving the completed dates back by one day for all completed tasks written by Life Balance before the 10.5.5 update. For example, on one sync the completion date is changed from 9/7/08 to 9/6/08 and on the next sync it is changed from 9/6/08 to 9/5/08, ...
