You don't need to worry about "timing" your purchase. If you purchase licenses for Life Balance from our web site within 30 days of a paid upgrade release, we will issue upgrade licenses for you without an additional upgrade fee, as long as we can confirm the date of purchase in our database. So contact support by email if you are in that situation.Our official update policy for Life Balance is to decide, case by case, whether or not to charge for each release.
We try to be generous with minor updates, but we do not guarantee that all updates in the future will be free. You are welcome to look at our release notes - many minor updates to Life Balance have been free. Here is the address of the release notes:

Pricing may change, or there may be charges for upgrade releases in the future. Always check the store for latest pricing information. In the past we have issued generous discounts to current customers when we have charged for a major update, and we would likely offer discounts to existing customers in the future.
