New AppleScript for archiving iCal events

This Applescript will archive completed iCal to-do items and old calendar events into separate iCal calendars whose names end in "(completed)".

We've gotten feedback from some of our Macintosh customers that they would like the new iCal sync feature to only import upcoming calendar events and uncompleted to-do items, rather than importing everything in the calendar. We agree—and while we work on updating Life Balance to provide this enhancement, we thought it would be a good idea to provide you with a script to help out in the meantime.

If you've already used iCal sync, running this script will have the side-effect of removing these completed items from Life Balance that came from the iCal sync. If you haven't used iCal sync yet, running this script will prevent these completed items from being imported in the first place.

The script has been tested under both Leopard and Tiger, and can be re-run any time you'd like to archive completed iCal items.
