Hotsync closes and reopens LB

It appears that if I have Life Balance for Windows open and I hotsync that LB closes and reopens. This wouldn't be an issue except that when I reopen it, it's in a different location on my desktop. I like to keep it windowed and centered on my desktop with a small boarder of the desktop around it. But when I bring it back up LB is now in the top right corner of the screen. Same size, but I have to move it back to the center.
I just hotsynced again and now I can't bring up Life Balance at all. Guess I'll try rebooting.
Is it best to close LB for Windows before hotsyncing?

RE: Hotsync closes and reopens LB
Well I'm not sure what happened that last time. After rebooting LB came up and I could only see the title bar part of the window. Like it was shrunk as much as it could be. I had to strectch it back out to the size I wanted.

RE: Hotsync closes and reopens LB
Hi Mark,
Yes, when you HotSync and the document being synced is open in Life Balance, the following steps happen. First the document is saved, then the window is hidden, synchronization happens, the modified document is read back in, and the window is redisplayed.
Unfortunately there are a few things that can go wrong in this process. Sometimes the window size and location aren't saved properly. This can produce problems ranging from the window coming up in the wrong location to it being completely collapsed. Also sometimes the window isn't shown after the sync and remains hidden. This is much more annoying because it requires going to the task manager to kill the Life Balance process before starting it again (though a reboot is not actually needed.)
We are aware of both of these problems and are taking steps in the next release to minimize or eliminate them.
In the meantime, yes, if you want to be on the safe side, quit out of Life Balance before syncing.
Hope this helps and let me know if you have any further questions.

RE: Hotsync closes and reopens LB
Something similar happens with Quicken where the window gets resized and moved to a random spot, sometimes hidden. I find I can retrieve it, usually, by right clicking the task on the task bar, selecting Move, using the arrow keys (up and left, especially) to make an outline of the window visible and then use the mouse to put the (usually shrunken) window where I want it and then resize it. Usually this works, but sometimes the outline either disappears or doesn't turn into the window. This happens more often when I have a lot of programs running. You can also use "Maximize" to see it, but a later "Restore" makes it disappear again.
After a hotsync, I usually find LB in the lower right hand corner but not resized. Usually I can just drag it with the mouse back where I want it.
