LB to Google Calendars?

I have LB on my Windows desktop, and formerly on my Palm Treo. Now that I have a Palm Pre, getting the info to synch seems really convoluted. Wouldn't it be easier just to allow LB to let the calendar ( and maybe tasks ) to be exported to something like Google Calendars? Then my palm pre can just pick up my calendar info from there?

would be nice...

I'd like to be able to export to google calendars too.

Thank you for your time.

Got my vote as well.

This would be a great work around for us Windows/iPhone users.

Great opiton for non iPhone mobile users

Syncing with Google Calendar would solve about half the problem for Android phone users. At least this way you could have reminders and see tasks on the phone, even if not with location based alerts or the ability to edit.

You need to sync LB with Google Calendar - for iPhone users

I started using LB on the Palm about 4 years ago and really liked it, until I stopped using the Palm because it did not sync well with Vista. I found the windows version of LB (which I bought) to be not as user friendly as the Palm version (also bought).
Now I have an iPhone... I bought the LB app and am very very disappointed that LB can not sync with any other calendar application. I spent time propogating it, setting priorities, places ect... and now am almost not even refering to LB because I really do not want to maintain multiple calendars. Already I have just about missing appointments. I am too busy to use multi-step work arounds such as downloading the ics from google, open your website, go through your converter on-line, then add the file to the windows LB version, erase duplicates, then update the iPhone - it takes way too long. And this only from the home computer which has the LB windows licence. I am at work most of the day. Then change an appointment.... oops did I remember the 6 steps.
Reminders are also absolutely necessary.
You really need to find a way to make this part of the application work.
A real shame, especially since your app is priced high for an apple app. I bought on the memory of how I enjoyed it on the Palm and now I feel like I wasted money on your iPhone app (not cheap either at $20), which doesn't perform the same functions as the Palm. There was great promise, but now I am quite disappointed.

Sorry that it did not work out for you and thanks

Thanks for your suggestions and comments. Sorry that it did not work out for you.

Perhaps you have not noticed that we've lowered the desktop price substantially to see if that would be helpful to some folks. So far, from our point of view, that is not working AT ALL. We've also had very limited success when we've offered discounts on the iPhone version. But folks who are price conscious should take advantage of those special deals when they are offered and try to convince us that lowering the price is a good idea. ;-)

I will also point out that on Mac and Palm, we do sync with other calendars. On the Mac, you can also then sync from iCal to Google Calendars.

The Windows version is in need of the Reminders feature. We have gotten some requests for that, but not a huge outpouring of interest.

The online converter web converter was only designed to be a one time use thing. I am surprised that you are using it regularly.

Each platform has its strengths and weaknesses. Our Palm folks got used to how that works, so there is a tendency to say we left stuff out of iPhone. True, but the iPhone also has MORE STUFF put in that we were not able to do on the Palm. There are other features that the Palm version never had and the versions just work differently according to the Operating System. iPhone sync to Windows is WAY better than Palm ever was. Once Palm stopped updating the Palm desktop, it just got more and more fragile. I do not know how much longer we will be able to support the Palm OS version. As Microsoft and Apple continue to update their developer tools, it becomes more difficult for us to update the conduits using Palm's old Conduit developer kit.

Being able to sync from Life Balance to Google Calendar is a very reasonable request. It is a big job though. I do think that it would be helpful to a lot of our customers. So we will certainly take that as a suggestion and try to make that happen for you all.

Thanks again.

Best wishes,

Price is Nice, but Function Sells

Personnaly, I would be happy to pay for upgrades that enhance user interface and functionality. Browsing the LB forums, I see the same requests repeated that were requested ages ago, e.g. ability to show/hide completed tasks, sorting abilities, project filters to show projects regardless of where they are in the outline, import/export to csv, etc..., font selection, printing improvements, etc...

Life Balance is great for planning birthday parties and vacations, but frankly I find it to be ugly on the screen and hard to quickly capture, process and organize new information or review current information if you have a large outline, especially if you have to deal with a lot of new information and changing situations in a fluid environment.

Best Regards,
Dwight...
