move from PC to Mac
I'm moving from a PC (old one running ME and crashing too often) to a Mac. I know a fair amount about Macs though probably not enough (and moving my Quicken data will be lots of work!). I have been running LB on my PC and my PDA for about 5 months now and like it a lot, and will be buying a copy of LB fir to my new ibook.
So, any advice out there? Anyone else do this? I have some specific questions:
1. What's the best way to move the data? I have a USB drive that I will use to move my data, but can I just copy the file or do I need to use the LB exchange format (.lbe on PC)? Using the latter will mean losing task credit. I can live with it if I have to, but I would prefer not to. (I know that PC and Mac use different chars to end lines in text files -- and Unix was different, too, but I'm not sure how this will affect my move.)
2. My husband has been a Mac person for a *long* time and recommends I use isync on the Mac. I noticed an old message here mentioning possible problems with LB and isync. Are there any gotchas I should know about?
3. I often run with two LB files open (one for me and one for my son -- we homeschool and his keeps track of his assignments, chores, etc, so I can balance his life, too). Anyone know of anything I need to watch out for here?
Thanks.

RE: move from PC to Mac
Hi Liz,
You can just move your .lbd files directly to the Macintosh. The data format is compatible. There is also some UI data which is platform specific, but the Macintosh ignores Windows UI data and vice-versa. This does mean that you'll have to reset the window sizes for your preference and you'll also have to set it up again so that Life Balance knows to open the correct data files when you launch it.
The Life Balance conduit will work best if you have the latest version of Life Balance, iSync, and the Palm Desktop.
I haven't heard of any problems with having two files open on the Macintosh.
Hope this helps and let me know if you have any further questions.
