glitch with repeating events synced to iCal -- three day event

amazondoc's picture

I have a three day event. I originally created it on the Palm in LB. It appears correctly in LB on the Mac, it appears correctly in LB on the Palm, it appears correctly in DB6 on the Palm.

In iCal, however, it is recorded as a TWO day event. This glitch has remained through several sync cycles now.

RE: glitch with repeating events synced to iCal -- three day eve

Hi there AmazonDoc,

Would you please remind me of what conduit you are using for the Calendar sync between iCal and Palm Calendar? Is it Missing Sync, Palm Desktop or what?

Also, is there a start time on that three day event?

We'll try to set up the same conditions here and let you know what we find out about it.

Best wishes,

RE: glitch with repeating events synced to iCal -- three day eve

Hiya --

I use the regular Palm Desktop software. I have isync enabled, and the calendar is set to sync.

I just noticed that I also have an event which repeats over two days that is showing up as ONE day in iCal.

Both of these repeating events have 8AM-5PM schedules each day they repeat.

Incidentally -- I'm trying to edit my sig file for the LB forums, but I don't remember where it's stored and I can't seem to find it any more. Could you point me towards it?

Thanks for the follow up. That is a big help!

We're also wondering how did you create that 3 day event, exactly. Life Balance on the Palm won't let you create a three day event directly, it typically goes through the datebook on one end or the other.

So, let us know what you did so that we can be sure we set up the same case.

Best wishes,

P.S. Look under the "User Menu" for the signature stuff. You'll see that if you are at the "top" of the forums. I like the idea of including your configuration info in the signature... You'll also need to switch that to 4.0.3....just posted... :-)

RE: glitch with repeating events synced to iCal -- three day eve

Right. I set the event up in LB on the Palm -- with the name and so on. I click on "by Datebook" and "Add" to enter the time schedule info. I save all that, then go over to DB6 to make it repeating.

Dangit, I just set up a test event to make sure I was telling you exactly what I did, and now I'm getting a continuous reset loop. The new version of LB must have corrupted a database somewhere.

I don't have time to deal with this now. I'll try to get it sorted out later this evening. Dang.

Okay --

I don't know what went wrong there. I had to do a hard reset and recover, but I'm back up and running.

Every repeating event appears to occur one less time in iCal than in either of the LBs or in DB. If it's a two day event, it appears once in iCal. If it's a three day event, it appears once in iCal. If it's a four day event, it appears three times in iCal.
