DUN: Unable to hotsync after installing LB 3.1.1

I recently upgraded to LB 3.1.1 and immediately after installation I noticed that I could no longer initiate a hotsync connection.

My setup:
-TiBook 667Mhz, OS 10.2.4, 768 MB ram
-Sony Clie T615c w/PalmOS 4.1.1
-Palm Desktop 4.0
-Missing Sync v3.0.4

I recently installed iSync prior to upgrading Life Balance but I was able to hotsync w/o difficulty until I performed the LB upgrade. I located the old disabled Life Balance conduit (courtesy of iSync) and tried deleting it in case it was generating some sort of conflict. Still no connection. Tried removing the NEW LB conduit to see if that helped, no success. I logged in on the same computer under my fiance's user account and tried a hotsync with her Clie which worked fine. Note: she has the exact same Clie and software set-up that I use but she does NOT use Life Balance so all the hardware and connections are fine. This is some type of software conflict that didn't exist until I upgraded Life Balance. Can anyone advise me on how to completely remove LB from my computer to see if that helps? Any other suggestions are much appreciated.

I'd:

1) reinstall the Life Balance desktop from a fresh download
2) reinstall the Life Balance on the palm from the download
3) Reconfigure the conduit to be connected to your desktop outline file off choice
4) Sync and test.

I'd go one step further in this case. First, completely uninstall Life Balance on the desktop (but not on the Palm). This is one of the options when you start the LB installer.

Also please let us know once you've reinstalled Life Balance if the problem is resolved. You've got us all curious now. :-)

Hi there,
Jody also sent me email, and has let me know that the problem is solved - this is the solution according to his latest email:

"Thanks for your prompt reply. It wasn't a matter of the Hot Sync stopping when it encountered the Life Balance conduit, it was a matter of my system being unable to even initiate communication between the laptop and handheld. Prior to doing anything more radical, I tried a soft reset of my pda and that's solved the problem. I guess when I installed recent software something needed to be reset in order to enable the pda to initiate the connection again."

Thanks to Jody for letting me know that his Life Balance is up and running again.
