Lifebalance for Mac Desktop Update

I believe the suggestion for UI improvement for Mac Desktop has been made a number of times; so, I won't belabor the point. However, it would be great if we get a glimpse of the future plan for the UI improvement. The recent release of the iPhone application for LB makes me long for such upgrade in the near future rather than later.

I won't mention any other Mac desktop programs in the market, but I have found other program so much easier entering, maintaining, and updating information/tasks within the program.

So, here is hoping as we get closer to the end of 2009 that the improvement is coming soon since it's long overdue in my book.

Sorry that it takes us so long...

Hi there Ken,

Yes, I'm sorry that it takes us so long to get UI changes made on all the platforms. A lot of our attention is going to the iPhone version to get the newest product on reasonably sound footing among the gazillions (well, 100,000+) apps out there.

We do our best to spread the love around to the various platforms, but the new baby does need extra care and feeding still.

The most recent update for Mac was done in September to make sure that everyone could make the leap to Snow Leopard!

You mention that you want to see a glimpse of the future, and that seems to presuppose a particular way of working on UI issues. Often there is just not that much to see until things are ready.

Right now, we do have a beta for the iPhone version that IS nearly ready... and it is getting some nice comments from the folks testing the beta. Even so, there's still not that much to see yet. We have not made our final screenshots for the documentation changes. The fact that the betas are happy is encouraging to us. I hope that you and everyone out there in LlamaLland will put in a kind word for us somewhere to help us rise above the noise.

If you have specific suggestions for the Mac desktop UI, that you think haven't been covered before, I really do encourage you to open a ticket and send 'em in. We always love to hear from you, and your thoughtful comments are much appreciated.

I'll send some of my suggestions in as requested in a few days. Hopefully after the work for iPhone is settled, you can focus on the Mac Desktop.

Well, I finally got around to send you some suggestions via Support page. Hope you get to read those. Also, I've been experiencing a lot of crashes with the desktop version lately (also created two support tickets), but I haven't heard anything back. Hopefully, Stuart is working on the fix.

Small suggestion for Mac desktop

The iPhone version of LB has deservedly been getting a large slice of the balance pie recently. However, when the pendulum eventually swings back towards the Mac desktop, maybe the llama plan could include a date picker by the due date field when setting up a dated task. It's often easier to use than manually typing the date, though I think it's good to have both.
