How to remove old iCal items on first setup
Hi:
So to get started with LB, I've just synced with iCal. Of course, I have items going back for about 5 years on iCal. But really, to setup LB I'm really only interested in items from the current month forward.
How can I tell LB to take just items from a certain date forward? There's just no way to go through the literally thousands of items from the past and delete them.
What obvious setting am I missing?
Ty,
F

There is an applescript to help....
Yes.
It may not follow the exact mental model you had in mind, but I think we have a way for you to get the job done.
There is an applescript to help you move the old stuff to a different calendar, which you then do not set up to sync with Life Balance.
Here is the link to the script:

Here is a link to the iCal sync set up info:

I hope that is helpful and clear.

I hope I'm not too late...
I hope I'm not to late, but *DO* make sure you back up all your calendars first. The script is very good (really, it is) but be aware it can take a very long time to run and repeating tasks are left. I think this is by design (after all, you will probably want birthday and wedding anniversary reminders to transfer into LifeBalance), but even if the last repeat was a long time ago it is still left in the original iCal calendar and then need to be manually moved. Also keep in mind that any "completed" calendar items in iCal that are synced with LB will be deleted when you purge LB. No ifs, no buts, no warning. With that in mind though, LB sync is very flexible and well designed. Enjoy!
applescript to create calendar of old dates
The link to this script isn't working for me.
Search will get it!
For some reason that link was not working for me either...

I did a search for "iCal Applescript" on our web site, and got to the page.
Hope that helps!
