How to identify the Parent task with AppleScript

Botanyman's picture

Hi,

Is there a way to get the info (name, ID, etc.) of the parent task of the selected task using AppleScript?

I want to create a script to open or add a folder in the Finder which name is identical to the project of the task selected in Life Balance (in my case, a task whose place is "project"). In addition, I would like to add another script to create/open a file for notes about the project.

Thanks,

Have a nice week-end!

Martin

I just noticed your post and

I just noticed your post and am having a similar issue enumerating the task list via AppleScript in Life Balance.

BTW, like your parent task

BTW, like your parent task request, I just remembered that I’m also interested in getting the “path” to a task in the outline. I’d rather not have to hand-create a variable to handle the “subtask of task blah of task blah of task blah” references.
