Subtask through to do

Hello,

Just wondering if you can subtask from the to do menu? I'm finding that i'm wanting to break items down that are at the top of my to do list, but at the moment i'm having to search through the outline in order to do this. Is their a simpler/quicker way? Possibly a button i am not seeing from the to do menu that takes you to the correct spot within the outline menu?

Hi!

I'm not sure if i understand what you mean, but i use two different ways for doing that:

1) Selecting the task in the ToDo view and then switching to Outline shows the task in the outline

2) Pressing that button:

lets you jump to the parent of the task in Todo, switching again to Outline it shows you the parent in the outline

Thanks, but i'm actually looking to do this on my iphone. Currently you can not simply click on the to-do then go to it's location on the outline. Plus "that button" does not exist on the current iphone version. I realise you can do this with the desktop version, but why not the iphone?

At the moment the only way i know to add subtasks is to search through the outline - which can be tiresome if your outline is a labyrinth of tasks and subtasks.

Sorry if this is confusing. All i'm asking is that they add a button to each to-do item that'd allow you to break the task down further. I.e. Say your top to-do task says 'Clean house' and you want to break it down to make that task more manageable. You could click a button next to your to do item that takes you directly into a edit mode, which you could then add appropriate subtasks.

Thanks for getting in touch. What you are describing sounds pretty similar to the Add Task button that we have included in the iPhone app already to allow you to add subtasks to a section quickly. Take a look at this... it may be useful to you....

If this is something that you want all the time, you can also make it one of the main buttons at the bottom. See the "settings" section of the documentation for how to rearrange that tool bar.
