iPod/iPhone OS4 sync issue with MACs, too
Some time after upgrading to iOS 4 on my iPod Touch, it stopped syncing with my MAC (Snow Leopard 10.4.6)
When I select the networking tab on the iPod and then "Receive" or "Sync", my mac's name appears in the list of servers, but when I select it, nothing happens for a while and then I eventually see: "The list of remote documents could not be retrieved. Please check your network firewall settings"
The MAC's firewall is set to allow incoming connections to both the"Life Balance" app and the "Life Balance Reminder" app.
PCs appear to have the same problem:

Yes... Macs too. "Stealth mode" is what is interfering...
And this is reposted from my reply on the other thread....
Hi there,
Yes, this does also happen on the Mac as well. It is somewhat less common than on Windows. The default settings for the Mac firewall are okay with the sync. If you have turned on "Stealth mode" that interferes with the desktop's ability to notice that IPv6 is unavailable and shift back to IPv4.
We have an update nearly ready to take care of that... so keep a watch for that. It will be coming soon to a Llamagraphics web site near you!
Thanks to all for your patience and clear reports which helped us track down this stealthy problem, too. :-)
Best wishes,
