HALO request - "Help a llama out" by putting in a good word for us...

cewhite's picture

Hi there iPhone folks,

I recently posted some of this at the bottom of another thread, but it really deserves to be up top here...

If you do like what we're doing with the iPhone version, we love that you tell us. That's wonderful and it keeps us going. THANK YOU! It warms my heart, and it makes me smile to read your encouraging comments and thoughtful posts with suggestions.

It is also critically important to us that you please take the time to put in a good word for us on the App store too, if you haven't already done so.

We have been entirely focused on working on getting updates out as quickly as we can. We have done three so far, (more if you count it by platform) and still working on more stuff. I'm glad that effort on our part is starting to be visible to you in using the software! That's great to hear!

If you are at the App Store... under the "more" next to the review you can say that the good/thoughtful reviews are being helpful.

I will add that the person who said that "employees" wrote the reviews is just mistaken. So while that's discouraging to us that it is showing up as the first review in the list, I trust our community will set things right in the long run. And every time someone from our community takes the time to put in a good word for us, that person's inaccurate view about who we are becomes less significant to the whole process.

By 5.0.3, we've addressed quite a few of the interface feedback complaints we got from the very first release. Much of that has already been taken care of.

Release Notes as usual can be found over here:

http://www.llamagraphics.com/LB/MergedReleaseNotes.php

We are also doing a lot to address remaining legitimate complaints about the memory leak issues that are leading to some crashes. We know we need to track those down. The issue there is that the Apple tools for finding memory leaks didn't find this particular kind of memory leak. We've come up with some new techniques for that, and hope the next posting will take care of most of the remaining crashing issues.

Best wishes, and thanks for listening...

App Store Tags (?)

Just a thought about feedback ...

I don't know how many App store 'hits' you are getting for LB, but I notice if I type in "GTD" in the power search function of the itunes store, LB does not come up in the list with all the other ToDo/GTD applications. This can't be good for LG/LB.

I know that LB is not a hardline GTD application but it is based on similar principles and anyone familiar with GTD should be encouraged to at least take a look at LB methinks!

Thanks for that!

Hi there Gricklegrass!

I will see if that is in our power to do. I don't remember exactly where/how/if we added tags to our listing. It is all kind of blur to me. Will check it out more carefully with the next posting.

Best wishes, and thanks for the suggestion on that!

Another venue for publicity for Life Balance

The web-site http://gtd.marvelz.com/blog/gtd-index/ indexes many GTD blogs and at the bottom has a section listing GTD-related software systems that doesn't contain Life Balance. I suggest that it might be useful to do so, but clearly that is not my decision :-)

Maybe...

I submitted our URL, and we'll see what happens!

Thanks for the suggestion! We definitely need to get the word out that "we are here!"

Every bit helps!

New User just posted a review to the app store

I LOVE LB! Unfortunately, my review was posted under my son's user name (calebscool). LOL Hope my review helps you out! I'll be blogging about it soon, too, at http://wonderwomen.typepad.com

Folks, keep us in mind. We need you!

There have been some changes in how the Apple Store organizes things, which may help us out too. But the most critical thing is your support to get us over the hump.

So, please don't forget about us.

Best wishes,

Review didn't post?

For some reason, my review hasn't been posted. I'm bummed too because I didn't save my lengthy comments! I'll try again soon.

Not sure how long it takes them to look it over...

Maybe all will be well. I don't know how long it takes them to look over the reviews. They may have a back log.

I do know that there would be some developer functions that won't be active between Christmas and New Years, so maybe it's just a holiday vacation thing?

Don't know. Thanks for trying, regardless, though. It means a lot to us, and we appreciate that you are helping us get noticed.

Best wishes,

Thank you!

I really appreciate the help on the App Store! Customer comments matter. It is a big factor there. It is so nice of you to take the time to help us get our message across.

We've done a lot more work with 5.1 and so far people seem to be enjoying the changes!

Best wishes,

tone of the reviews

Just a thought, a couple of the reviews are along the lines of "Catherine has done a great job" and so on. That personal touch makes the app sound a little small an cottage industry, and that the comments are from very understanding friends. Just from my point of view, a less folksy approach makes the whole set-up sound more professional.

Hmm... well, that's a thought...

Hmm... well, that's a thought...

Of course it would be hard to imagine us to be any smaller, or any more cottage-y, so maybe that part is at least an accurate picture!

:-)

And being small and cottage-y does not actually prevent us from being professional.

Your point is well taken, though. Thanks to everyone for chiming in on our behalf! All of it is much appreciated.

Best wishes,
