Newbie Question - What about weekends?
Hi folks. Just downloaded the trial version and I really like what this program has to offer. I'm running into a little issue though that I'm hoping someone has the answer to.
I would like to set up a daily task for weekdays, but not weekends. I'm not seeing a way to schedule that offhand. I can make a recurring schedule for something to happen every day, but I don't see a way to exclude Saturday and Sunday.
Can anyone enlighten me?
Removing weekends
First option is to use the calendar to schedule it for each day, and make it recurring every week, but only on certain days of the week
Second option if you want it to stay as a recurring task is to set up a Place to be used for this task (call it Weekdays, or anything else you want), and set its Open Hours to be Weekdays only. Then set your task to be in the Weekdays Place, and when you select this place in the To Do list you will only see tasks if today is a weekday
Now you may have other tasks that you want to see all the time, so you may have another place (lets call it Home) set up and your Home tasks normally go in there. If you set the Home place to "Include" the "Weekdays" place, then anything that is visible on the Weekdays task list will also be visible on the Home task list. Home might be open all the time, and the Weekdays tasks will pop in and out of it depending on whether that place is open or not
Hope that helps - sometimes best to just try this out by creating a couple of dummy places, and playing around with Include and Open hours
