Elegantly ignored a valid question!!
I own the Mac, Iphone and Windows (latest) versions.
I'll skip the traditional "I love Life Balance" introduction to each forum (but I really do love it and use it!).. and will get straight to the point:
In this Topic
http://www.llamagraphics.com/forums/macintosh-community-support/moving-l...
Collinong wrote in detail a most valid description of what his "dream" task manage app would look like.
He also politely described among other things some objective pitfalls that we all deal with in the current versions.
He then proceeded to politely ask What are the current development plans Llamagraphics has for Life Balance for Mac and iphone, and Life Balance in general?
Will we get better Notes functionality?
Will the GUI get updated with inline editing of all variable of a task?
and all the other questions that were mentioned in the Topic above.
I find it plain rude that you did not reply to these questions AT ALL and only reacted to the money/update questions.
The Topic was not about money but about functionality!!
A short "OK, Thanks" is not satisfactory in this case, when experienced Life Balance users ask valid concrete questions about your plans.
Please give us some general information about the direction you have chosen for Life Balance. So that we can make informed decisions.
Thank you,
Gavriel.

I apologize for the misunderstanding
Good afternoon Gavriel,
I'm glad you brought it up. :-)
That message was written back in 2009, I think just prior to our iPhone release. I certainly didn't mean to be rude. At that time, we were working pretty much 100 percent on the iPhone release. That was our priority, and I was trying to be clear that iPhone was what we were working on in many different posts there and around the site. Please keep in mind that we are a TWO person company. Getting the iPhone version out WAS our development plan. We followed through on the plan. Iphone version of Life Balance is out there, and has had about nine solid updates since then. Ta-dah!
The point I was trying to make then was that releases have been pretty regular and timely, many important features and functions people have asked about have been implemented. Pricing also has been pretty reasonable for updates. Most of that information is always available through the release history link.

I understand that many people have particular things they would like us to do. I did not intend to be dismissive of any particular person's suggestions, many have been mentioned before, and will likely come up again. We are aware that there are many things we can do better.
Sometimes folks may have preconceived notions about what our development plan ought to look like. We do not use a grand master list where it is all plotted out for the foreseeable future and we can say with certainty that Feature #3000 will be implemented by January 23, 2030. With just the two of us, that is not how we go about it. We do have development plans, but they are more flexible than that, and definitely subject to change, based on input from customers, various challenges, mistakes and even insights we might have along the way.
As for our current development plans. We are in a similar situation, now, so I want to be clear again that these are the main areas we are working on right now:
1) We took some time to shift to a new server because our old server was causing some major problems with the website - that is now nearly done. Probably finish that up in this coming week.
2) Recently removed Palm OS conduit code that was holding back the desktops. <-- This is now done, so that once the iPad version is out, we will be in a better position to do some desktop updates, but what exactly we'll do next with it is not carved in stone, so suggestions will be looked at carefully as we get closer to that and delve more deeply into it.
3) Finishing up the iPad native version <-- note that this is the main emphasis of the development plan right now. A lot is already working now... there is still more to be done. We are looking forward to getting into the polishing phase soon, which will need to be done with some input from thoughtful beta tester feedback, too.
Anyway, I hope that is helpful and clear, and that you can appreciate better how that old message fits into the conversation for that moment in time.
Best wishes for a Happy and Bright New Year for everyone in 2011!

THANK YOU.
Thank you, Catherine.
Yes, indeed. that reply is very helpful to understand better how you work and think.
I appreciate it.
Given your reply, instead of adding my long list of wishes for my "dream" optimal LB functionality..,
I am going to list — in a separate Topic — a list of **small tweaks** - these are changes that should take relatively little time and effort to implement and yet would be an objective BOOST to the existing functionality in Life Balance without contradicting any of its basic principles:
Balancing activity based on effort, importance and life goals, and filtering next actions in context lists.
All the best,
gavriel.
Hi! Thanks for this
Hi!
Thanks for this information! Glad to hear you're working still on the ipad-version :) (In case you need more beta-testers I would be glad to help). Besides that, are you considering versions of LB in other languages then English as well in the foreseeable future?
Andreas
Thanks!
Hello there Shugi,
You are welcome. Glad to know that there is a pool of potential beta testers out there!
Not sure yet about localization. We did it for Palm... so we definitely may be able to do that again. The underpinnings for the code are fine for that. It does make it more complicated for us to make changes, so I am a little reluctant to do that at a time when we need to stay fast on our feet, and focused on getting that iPad version done. So I am sorry to say no on localization for the time being.
So, I will simply say... Foreseeable future... sure... sometime. Right now... probably not.
I hope you understand that I'm not saying never... just not right now.
Best wishes,

HI Catherine! Thanks for your
HI Catherine!
Thanks for your answer! Of course i understand your reasoning very well :) And a great ipad-LB is anyway more important, being able to do a weekly review on the couch is very promising ;)
Best wishes to you as well,
Andreas
Especially with the ability
Especially with the ability to assign and select Multiple Places...
