Support for RIM? (Blackberry?)

Is there plans to support RIM (Blackberry) in the near future? I appreciate and understand fully that details of writing to and supporting another platform but with 2 million business users now....business users mind you that are being trained in droves on how to manage to dos with FC and GTD methodologies.....the market is HUGE!

Just this week, I have been in front of 4 on my top clients explaining my personal (system) that now included Palm and windows devices.

My firm is switching to Blackberry devices. If LB would work on that platform ...well, the sky would be the limit for me.

RE: Support for RIM? (Blackberry?)

Hello there Bob,

You may be unaware that RIM was at the PalmSource Developer's Conference. Here's the prior announcement that may be helpful to you:

So obviously that is very interesting to us, for the reasons you mention.

The exact details of that from a developer's point of view were not discussed at the conference session that I attended. It was more of a technical overview of the Blackberry infrastucture rather than a roadmap for what we need to do about it for on the application level.

Nevertheless, I got the definite impression that the Blackberry secure infrastructure would be available for Palm OS handhelds in the future. Potentially making it a much stronger story for Palm OS developers like us to sell into Enterprise markets.

It is definitely something that we are watching.

Best wishes,

Getting my Firm-provided Blackberry 7230 tomorrow. It supports Java apps. Anyone know of an emulator or something to run either the .NET of Palm OS versions of LB on a Blackberry?

RE: Support for RIM? (Blackberry?)

Someone asked a related question about Blackberry yesterday, so I revisited some of that stuff, and may as well pass it along here too.

Life Balance does not run on Blackberry handsets currently. Only Palm OS. There was a set of announcements last December and in May. How developers will make use of all that stuff is still in flux.

According to PalmSource press release:

"Additionally, in the third quarter, PalmSource:

RE: Support for RIM? (Blackberry?)

From what I read, they're only saying Palm OS devices will be able to use the RIM network and RIM web browser. It says nothing about either platform supporting apps made for the other, except the RIM browser on Palm OS.

RE: Support for RIM? (Blackberry?)

Well it's been awhile...

Was a beta tester way back when and haven't been using a Palm for yrs. Now using a crackberry at work and would LOVE to be able to run Life Balance on it. It would make my life so much simpler and more productive.

Are there ANY plans to make this great piece of code run on the RIM platform. If so you have an experienced beta tester with some history chomping at the bit...lol
