LifeBalance isn't showing up as a conduit
My Windows Desktop was having a problem, so tech support created a new Windows Desktop and transferred my files.
I found my LifeBalance Database as well as Palm, everything is synching except for LifeBalance. It isn't in the log or even showing up as a conduit in the Hot Synch Manager. I'm using Palm OS v.5.2.1
However, when I open LifeBalance, HotSync is on the menu bar, and set for the correct User Name and set to synchronize files.
What should I do?
Thanks!

RE: LifeBalance isn't showing up as a conduit
Hello there IndyGirl,
Before Palm Desktop 6 (T5/Treo 650), the Palm Desktop has the limitation that both it and the conduits need to be installed by the user who will use them.
This implies that your account has to have admin privs for long enough for you or your IT department to install Palm Desktop, and then Life Balance in order for the conduit to get properly assigned to your account.
Unfortunately, the usual Windows system for installing "for all users" doesn't work for Palm Desktop or conduits. It has to do with how they are using the Windows registry.
Let me know if that gets you and your IT department folks back on track on that.
Best wishes,

RE: LifeBalance isn't showing up as a conduit
I'm having the same problem, and I installed both the Palm Desktop and Lifebalance. I'm blaming it on the fact that I installed the Palm version before the desktop version, but I'm not actually sure if that's the problem.
I really want to get the data on my Palm onto my desktop. Any suggestions?
Thank you!
Amanda
RE: LifeBalance isn't showing up as a conduit
This looks like a situation similar to what I had, and the answer really was to get admin privileges for your user - not just to install as Admin. In fact, installing as a separate user probably caused me more problems. In my case, I had downgraded my user for security reasons. As you have a different user (even if it is the same name, the internal ID will be different), then the permissions will be assigned to the old user ID. I suspect this is part of the problem. I also suspect that there will be other problems with other programs, that you may not notice immediately.
Unfortunately, I found that I also had to do some registry hacking to clear things up, but that was probably my fault.
Catherine, did you learn anything from my logs that could help out here?
Cheers

RE: LifeBalance isn't showing up as a conduit
Mysteriously my computer somehow fixed itself. After not showing up for half the day, suddenly Life Balance showed up in the conduits and is now working fine. I admit I kept reinstalling it, stubbornly thinking that would help - who knows...
