LB under Linux

Hi everyone

At home, my PCs run under Linux (Ubuntu 8.04).
I'd appreciate to have an LB LInux version (and I'll pay for it!), in order to sync my iPod LB Version to/from my desktop.

Is tehre anybody else interested in that feature? Turnarounds?

Thanks
Pascal

LB under Linux

Catherine is probably rolling her eyes in exasperation, but..YES, PLEASE!

Guys, I am acutely aware that supporting an app on four different platforms is difficult enough, and adding a new one seems like a daunting endeavour, but this could trigger a boom in LB's popularity and sales.

As you are no doubt aware, there has been an huge increase in the attention paid to Linux in the GTD/Lifehacker/productivity world. LB is perfectly suited to take the top spot in that market, especially coupled with the iPhone version.

What can we do -as the LB community- to help you add a Linux version? I think you would be surprised at the amount of work we are prepared to do to achieve that goal.

Cheers,

Morel

LB under linux (I second that request)

Running LB on my Asus eeePC 1000 and synch'g with my Palm Treo would be sweeeeeet! I suspect that porting LB to linux would allow LB to run under Google's Android OS [think: T-Mobile's G1 phone], too. I only have a couple of M$-Win only programs that I use daily; otherwise, I would be linux OS only for all of my computer work.

LB under Linux

Has anyone tried using LB with Codeweavers or WINE on Linux? I know it's not a perfect option if there are problems but if it works.... you may get what you need without reinventing the wheel.

Life Balance running under Wine on Ubuntu

Yes, I have tried installing and running Life Balance (5.1) under the Wine emulator (1.1.26) on Ubuntu 9.04.

The first problem you run into is the need for Microsoft .Net - which is needed by Life Balance. So I downloaded the .exe provided on the downloads page. When an attempt is made to install it under Wine, it crashes during the install. However, Life Balance seems to think .Net installed ok, and Life Balance then installs itself successfully. However, running Life Balance after this crashes, as one would expect.

It would seem to be to be a worthwhile project to get Life Balance running under Wine for Ubuntu (and other Linux distros) as opposed to writing a native version.

Llamas care to comment?

Thanks!

Lobbing the ball back to your side of the court...

I believe that someone has gotten Life Balance to run under Wine. I do not remember off hand how it was done, only that it was an involved process that really did make me roll my eyes. Perhaps the person who did it will step forward to take a bow.

Yes, another platform is definitely a daunting prospect right now. That can, of course, change.

Our priority at the moment (focus) is to get the fledgling product for Life Balance on _iPhone_ to really fly first.

Then we'll see what might be next! :-)

Best -
