Synching all over town

Perhaps I am a freak of nature, but I use LifeBalance at home on a Mac, at work on a PC, and on my Palm. And I'm getting into some frustration with both my calendar and LB events that are tied to a calendar entry.

In short, I end up with a LOT of entries in my calendar twice. If it's an LB/Calendar item, it can end up in my calendar 4 or 5 times, or more. It's to the point where I regularly have to spend an hour or more going over the entire calendar for several years, removing duplicate events and calendar entries. And I cannot use LB with calendar items, because it only makes the problem worse.

Does anybody know what's going on?

I'm using:
LB 3.2.9 on a Mac and sync'ing with The Missing Sync
Using iCal 2.0.5

LB 3.2.9 on Windows XP, using the Palm conduits
Using Outlook 2003

LB 3.2.9 on a Palm Z22 running Garnet Palm OS

Hi Ray,
What you are seeing is in the Palm and its desktop, basically, and it happens when you use 'handheld overwrites desktop' - there is an interpretation of 'changed' which makes the Palm calendar think it needs another entry.

If have cleaned up your Palm desktop and Palm and they are okay now, use 'synchronize' as your Life Balance conduit setting. Use synchronize for your calendar conduit setting.

Life Balance on synchronize can take care of the multiple synching and not trigger the impulse to duplicate in the Palm calendar.

I know this personally because I had the problem, since I was also syncing all over town and using the 'overwrite' setting. Now I am 'synchronizing' on multiple machines and have no duplicates whatsoever!

Best wishes,
Jean
