Datebook urgencies and priorities with LB
I've started using LB again. It is way easier now to avoid duplicating tasks between Datebook and Life Balance. That's a wonderful improvement on what I already thought was a great program.
As a number of other LB users seem to do, I tend to use LB for more global and personal goals and Datebook synched with Outlook for work, i.e. income earning items.
But since LB and Datebook can talk to each other pretty well at this point, or rather it's easier to control their conversation, I've followed the advice in LB's manual, page 65 to try to fuse them a bit more :
1. Create the categories, places, and outline sections that you'll need for
synchronization. You'll probably want to have a Life Balance place for each
category, and you may want to have a section in your outline for each category
as well.
That was something I did before, but it works better now. I'm thinking that there might be a way to use the priorities and urgency settings I set on tasks in Datebook in a more sensible way in LB.
If anyone has any ideas or tips on this, I'd be grateful. Life Balance provides a more reflective and feedback oriented way to plan and respond to needs and goals, and Datebook is more of a "get through the day/week/month check and slash list." It isn't that I expect to use only one program, just that I'd like to have a better cohesion of the urgency and priority for tasks in both programs.
