Why am I getting so many iCal Sync Conflicts?

I am using LifeBalance 4.05 on a mac (OSX 10.5) Leopard, iCal, Treo 650 (Missing Sync)

I have set it up to sync with iCal. I have made 6 iCal calendars to various tasks in Life Balance

I am also using Life Balance 3.4.1 on a palm Treo 650. I sync the Treo using Missing Sync for Palm OS 6.0.3. It is set to Sync (in this order)

- LifeBalance
- Contacts
- Events
- Notes
- Tasks

I've noticed some very strange behaviour and when I sync I often get a lot of conflicts and changes. I've even lost all of the date information before (which really ticked me off).

But - I understand that just saying 'it doesn't work' isn't helpful. So - here is a step by step summary of what I did most recently.

- I did a sync between Life Balance and iCal.
- I set missing Sync to have desktop overwrite palm and did a palm-mac sync.
- I set missing to to synchronize and did a palm-mac sync.

- Using only life balance on the palm I checked 2 tasks as complete and added a new task by DateBook.

- I did another palm-mac sync.

- The single task I added to life balance remains as a task in life balance. There is now, however, 1 task in ICal and one calendar event in iCal both with the same name as teh new life balance task. The iCal event and iCal task both have different LB strings

- I opened life balance again and now it is detecting 43 conflicts between iCal and life balance! Argh! I did not change 43 things!!!

has anyone else got this setup to work?

I'm having the same problem,

I'm having the same problem, don't know how to solve it, but just wanted you to know you are not alone and shouting into the wilderness! (I get lots of sync conflicts involving due date type)

If I find anything that helps I will post back to you.

Do you have the dates showing one day later in iCal todos than LB problem as well?

I'm not sure that will be enough info for us to go on...

Hi there,

Sorry for the delay getting back to you. My dog wrecked his knee (ow!) and both Stuart and I had the flu this week.

We'll certainly go through the steps you mentioned to see if we can get that to happen here, but I'm guessing that it won't just happen when we try it.

It would be useful to have the details on the actual conflicts, and to see if we can reproduce the exact case you are seeing because it is likely to be dependent on the exact data involved in the sync.

If you would kindly open a ticket, and ideally provide your data, (obviously we keep that confidential and delete when done) we can get the file under the developer tools, and really see why you ran into that.

Thanks Catharine, I just

Thanks Catharine, I just submitted a new ticket. I submit another one before this forum post, but this time I included the file.
