Syncing LifeBalance on Leopard without using Rosetta for LB app
I just installed Leopard (and upgraded to LB 4.05 and the latest Palm version). I was having the same problem others were about getting HotSync to work. I posted a ticket, but not hearing back (it is the weekend), and not thinking to look here for an answer, I went exploring myself.
Besides, the preferred solution is to make LB run in Rosetta, since HotSync is not Intel native yet. Yuch. I just upgraded to an Intel processor and was thrilled to have LB run nice and fast. I wouldn't want to cripple it by running in Rosetta.
I don't really need a HotSync menu, I just needed to install the new conduit. WARNING! If you aren't comfortable with running shell commands, read no further.
% cd /Applications/LifeBalance.app/Contents/SharedSupport
% ls
[ Hey looky, something called install-conduit.sh! Takes two arguments: location of the conduit and where to put it. ]
% sudo ./install-conduit.sh ./Life Balance conduit.plugin $HOME/Library/Application\ Support/
And presto, all done. No need to run LB in Rosetta just to install the conduit.

That's okay..
Hi there,
That's okay.
Perhaps a simpler solution is to turn on Rosetta long enough to install the conduit, and then turn it off again. You don't need to run under Rosetta.
Best wishes,
