beta Install Instruction

I see 3 files on the webpage for the beta release. It's not clear which are to be installed for the Mac and which are to be installed for Palm & windows. Also there is no explanation as to the purpose of the archive file. Pleas post description for each file and what needs to installed. This would be most helpful. Thanks

We're so accustomed to knowing these files by name (and by heart) that we forgot that it would be helpful to label them by platform.
