(not so) newcomer and iphone
hello Catherine.
I tried once already to use life balance but ultimately stopped because my company dropped palm e-mail support and I didn't want to carry two devices. I am on nokia e61 now but I fully understand that you don't want to put your hands into s60 programming...
This being said, I am really interested by the iphone and will probably make the plunge anyhow.
There is a feature in the iphone 3g that I think can be extremely useful in the use of the software : geolocation. As the iphone allows for assisted GPS, the geolocation can be on all the time without consuming too much battery. It means that one can have automatic "place" update, not only based on position (such as the shopping mall), but also on movement (moving at an average speed of x from a certain zone a in a certain direction, which of course may translate into "in the train commuting to work")
Even more futuristic are places that are dependant of awareness to other peoples locations (through a service like loopt).
I know it is a lot of potential work, so I will be patient. I renewed my OS X license, even if I am not sure I will be using it, but one has to support your good work !
Best
Charles

Chuck, thank you for supporting what we are striving for!
Chuck,
It is wonderful to hear from you!
The work to bring Life Balance to iPhone is continuing, and I appreciate you supporting our efforts to make that happen! THANK YOU!
Thanks also for letting us know what kind of experience you hope to have on the iPhone. We love GPS... and can certainly imagine working it into what we're doing in a number of ways.
I've been thinking a lot about navigation and position, for our recent sailing lessons, and it has been fun to think about. Because I like thinking about that stuff, the odds of it finding its way into Life Balance is much higher! :-)
Coming soon...The Celestial Navigation version of Life Balance! Ha!
:-) :-) :-)
Best wishes,
