Good Morning Llama-Lland!
Greetings one and all! As requested, I'm posting an introduction to myself. My real name is David and I live in Denver. Currently my day job is working as a pharmacy technician, but I'd like to find some way to combine my interest in science (have a degree in Physical Sciences with an emphasis in education) with my passion for performing. Working in the education department of a zoo or science museum has caught my interest and I've been looking for information and job opportunities.
Currently under treatment for depression. I think I've made great strides, but often times I feel overwhelmed which sinks my mood and shakes my self-image. Using Life Balance on my Mac has helped by providing a sense of structure: When I feel like the world is crumbling around me and everything is out of control, I just focus on the top item of my list. Even if there are other things that need to be done, I can remind myself that they will work their way to the top of the list. But it's not so rigid that I can't do something further down if I feel conditions are right.
I've learned through experience to identify projects and break them up into tasks ("Do laundry" has since been replaced by "Sort clothes", "Put clothes in washer", etc) and have gotten a better hold on doing daily/weekly errands. Now I'm looking to see how to expand using this application, especailly getting ideas for assigning areas (I guess most people here call them Top Level Items) and choosing projects/tasks. I am also eagerly awaiting the iPhone version!
