Designing my Life Balance
Hello Everyone
My name is Peter. I live in London England.
My project is to design my Life Balance folder.
I hope to get the full power of having this on my Palm.
My first step is to break my life into different areas:
These are:
1. Me/Myself
2. Leisure
3. Mortality
4. Image
5. Soul
6. Health
7. Travel
8. Work
9. Money
10. Home
11. Relationships
I included travel because of the time I spend per week on this activity. I calculated that ten and a half hour is the time I spend going from place to place. It could be argued that I should include that time in an activity. If I am going somewhere it’s the travel to and from the event as well as the event time that should be added together.
Me/myself. I felt that I was missing from this picture. I feel better adding myself into the picture. I am not just dealing with external demands.
Yours
Peter

Greetings to you...
Hello there Peter,
Welcome to the forums. Definitely put yourself into the picture! I understand how difficult that can be sometimes, but it is important to not get lost amid the hubbub of daily life.
You are off to a good start, and feel free to make adjustments as you begin this journey. There were a couple of things I noticed that you may want to think about as you get going.
One is that "Travel" may be a place. It is hard to tell because the goals do not include anything about the kind of outcome you hope to achieve.
For instance... "Spend all my money" is probably not what you mean by "Money." Or maybe it is... :-)
Is "Travel" intended to be "Reduce travel time?" or "Make the most of Travel Time?" or simply "Endure Travel time?" These differences will lead you to think of different tasks that could reach very different outcomes.
The problem with using shortcut terms for "buckets" for tasks is that they have a tendency to accumulate tasks that fit the quick label, but then do not actually contribute to what you want out of them. "Work" could be any assignment and what you do to get by. That's fine, and it may be what you have to do. But consider the difference when you name that project "Get promoted", which may lead you to seek out special projects. "Get a raise" may lead you to find ways to ask for the raise.
The Outline is about motivation, and figuring out why you intend to do things.
You may also find that this is a good match to your spiritual side that you intend to explore.
Your Outline, like your life are uniquely your own. So, it can be beneficial to customize the labels, and to revise them when you gain insights into what you really hope to do.
Anyway, I hope that you find that helpful as food for thought as you find your own way of setting things up in Life Balance.
Best wishes,
--Catherine--*
