Thanks for getting in touch with us with the error message from your hotsync log. We'll be happy to help, but the error message alone is only part of the information we'll need.

That message indicates that "the requested operation is not supported on the database type." In that part of our code, the only database type would be our database type. The message is almost like it doesn't think that the Life Balance.PRC is an application.

I also don't understand exactly what you mean by "PRC was rebuilt, prefs dumped on the Mac." Do you mean that you reinstalled the software to the Palm handheld? Which preference file did you delete?

Reinstalling the Life Balance.PRC application would probably be a good idea. However, be sure to reinstall from a fresh download from our site, not from your backups. We have seen cases where the PRC is corrupted in the backups from the handheld. This happens sometimes with larger applications like Life Balance.

That message probably doesn't involve the prefs.

We will also need to know the following things:

What kind of Palm handheld do you have?
Who is the carrier company if it is a phone?

Do you have all the most recent updates from Palm?

Are you running the same version of Life Balance (v3.2.6) on BOTH the handheld and on the desktop?

It would also be a good idea to make sure that you are not running any system extensions or hacks.

We had someone who had a problem like this recently running Life Balance from an Apple Cube, who switched to a different USB hub, and the problem went away. It turned out to be a hardware problem communicating between the Palm handheld and the Mac.

If you can fill in a few details for us, we'll do what we can to help you get back on track. We need to get a better picture of what is happening in your case.
