Hotsync error msg: LB palm tasks by date book refer to empty date book
I am trying to HotSync my palm T3 to a reinstalled desktop LB (3.2.6). I've been successfully syncing LB with Outlook for a long time (years). But recently I decided to ignore the old rule to not fix something that is working; so I stupidly started playing around with different configurations for Palm Desktop, Outlook, updated version of HotSync, etc., and somehow I got snarled up and can no longer get LB to HotSync anymore.
So I then first uninstalled LB on the desktop (Pentium P4), then reinstalled LB and the palm software. Then set up a new .lbd file for use on the PC. Then I adjusted HotSync's "Custom" function for LB so that it pointed to that new .lbd file. Then I attempted to HotSync (several times) but got the error message that follows:
"Life Balance on your handheld contains tasks that happen 'By Date Book', but the Date Book on your handheld is empty. Please restore the Date Book to your handheld. If this HotSync pass is already restoring your Date Book data, then the issue may already be resolved and this message should go away in the next HotSync.
Life Balance 3.2.6 synchronization failed"
But the Calendar on my T3 is not empty (contains lots of stuff).
I am using Outlook 2003 SP3's calendar for my "date book" on my PC computer. It is not empty (and has the same plenty of stuff in it). The palm Calendar is successfully syncing with the PC's outlook.
I don't know how to efficently resolve this problem. Lacking an alternative solution, I probably will resort to a complete uninstall of LB, Palm Desktop and software, and Outlook on the PC. And then I guess I will reinstall all and try again. But, I'm hoping for a less drastic approach and solution.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Ooops:
I mistakenly said that I am using Outlook 2003 SP3's calendar for my "date book" on my PC computer. I should have said Outlook 2002 SP3.

Are you syncing okay now? If not, open a ticket - I may be able to send you a utility which will help with the 'empty date book' message.

The Date Rescue utility solved this problem. If you are getting the Datebook is empty message - Date Rescue can almost always solve the problem!

If you are getting this message, please open a ticket. We have a new conduit which solves the problem.
Opening a ticket is the only way to deal with this problem - see the article in the knowledgebase about it.
These are user forums and we don't always look at them every day. We do read and respond to the tickets - and we can keep track of what we've sent out, too.
