hotsync crashes on mac

I installed life balance on my mac.
When I performed the first sync after installation,
hotsync crashed,
so the life balance app never got installed on my palm.

What could be wrong?

You can tell because the included Palm software is very small - much smaller than the correct version's 508K. The thing to do is to download the Palm Life Balance application separately - from the Life Balance download page
