I heard about this book on National Public Radio and I was struck by the kindness of her approach. I have read books on organization that scold and shame - urge you to throw out your prized collection of bottlecaps. Julie Morgenstern says you don't have to throw anything away if you don't want to. You have to make it useful and accessible to yourself. She also recommends figuring out what is working in your current systems before you attempt to scrap them for something new. It seems a sound and satisfying way to proceed. Stay tuned and I'll let you know how it works in PRACTICE! My desk is a mess!
12/12/98 News! My Desk! My Desk! I haven't seen it in months! I'm pleased to report that after yesterday's efforts my desk is once again the thing of beauty, and the heart of my operations that it is intended to be. Thanks Julie! |
