To support the new edition of Life Balance for iPhone and iPod touch, we've added a network server that lets you synchronize, backup and restore the Life Balance data on your iPhone to the Mac over WiFi. Turning on the iPhone sync server is as simple as checking a single box, and it works even when Life Balance isn't running!

Look for Life Balance to appear soon in the iPhone App Store!

We've enhanced our Intel support by working around the Palm Desktop limitation that required Life Balance to run under Rosetta in order for the HotSync menu to appear. Palm users can now run Life Balance at full speed on their Intel Macs, and still get the convenience of changing HotSync settings from within Life Balance.

Life Balance is a universal binary, so that it runs at full speed on both PowerPC- and Intel-based Macintosh computers. We've tested extensively under Leopard to ensure compatibility with the latest and greatest technology from Apple, while fully supporting Tiger.

Life Balance now synchronizes with iCal using Sync Services. This means that your Life Balance calendar and to-dos are available anywhere that iCal is: on your iPod, published on your .Mac web site, or synced to other computers that share your .Mac account. Best of all, data flows in both directions so that tasks you check off in iCal or events that get rescheduled are immediately updated in Life Balance. A new preference panel lets you control exactly which iCal calendars will be synchronized to which projects. Or if you're new to Life Balance and want to get started quickly, just choose "New from iCal" from the File menu.

Life Balance now includes a pop-up reminder window for your most important scheduled tasks. This is a very powerful new feature that can help you keep up with urgent tasks without losing track of what matters most. Setting individual alarms in other programs takes too much time, especially when you are a busy creative person with many hundreds of tasks in your Outline. In Life Balance you only need to configure your reminder settings once and Life Balance will take care of the rest. Reminders even appear when Life Balance isn't running! Read more about how reminders work.

We have added support for Spotlight. Once you launch this version of Life Balance, Spotlight should begin indexing your Life Balance documents, and some time after that you should be able to search inside your Life Balance files using Spotlight. Go ahead, be creative, capture ideas, and jot things down into Life Balance knowing that the power of Spotlight will help you to find them again within your Life Balance file in a jiffy.

We have added Applescript support with a full featured dictionary that covers most of the application. You can now create and modify Life Balance tasks, places and events using Applescript. Everything you need in order to write the Life Balance scripts of your dreams.

Using the Applescript support, we have provided a number of Automator actions for those who may not want to do a lot scripting. If you're not familiar with Automator, it provides a very simple interface for automating common tasks and moving data between applications. We've written a number of actions to get you started. We've included actions for updating the to-do list, changing the importance and places of tasks, and even creating new tasks from mail messages and iCal events! Take a look and tell us what additional actions and work flows you'd like to see us provide.

We've reimplemented the pie charts using Quartz graphics for an improved look and better performance. Graphics dragged into the pie charts are now drawn and colorized more clearly. By double-clicking on a pie slice you can now select the color for each slice of the pie!

We've polished the look of the calendar to pack more information into a small space. We've also added tooltips, so that you can always see the complete description of a calendar event just by hovering the mouse over it. While clicking on a calendar event still selects the event, option-clicking now selects the corresponding task.

We've also modernized the text handling in Life Balance, and as a result you can not only edit text more naturally, you can now use the Services menu and Spell Checking.
